Experienced campaigner Ahsan-ul Haque posted back-to-back wins to march into the quarterfinals of the 1st CSA All-Orissa Open Snooker Tournament, which commenced at the newly launched Cue Sports Academy (CSA) complex in Bhubaneswar today.
Fourth seed Haque, who received a bye in the first round, started his campaign on a modest note, defeating Satyajyoti Mohanty by 3-1 frames. In the pre-quarterfinals, Nalco employee Haque rode on a break of 57 to outplay Subhranshu Kar 3-0.
Among other leading cueists, fifth seed Satyadeep Das overcame teenager Chirag Arora in straight frames to book his berth in the pre-quarterfinals.
As many as 40 cueists joined the lucrative tournament, which was inaugurated by CSA president Premanshu Sekhar Pattnayak. The 11-day tournament offers a total cash prize of Rs 52,000, including Rs 20,000 for the champion.

2nd round: Ahsan-ul Haque bt Satyajyoti Mohanty 3-1 (56-55, 38-68, 80-29, 100-13): Satyadeep Das bt C Arora 3-0 (68-57, 61-54, 86-33).
Pre-quarterfinal: A Haque bt Subhranshu Kar 3-0 (93-37, 86-47, 67-23).
